Artisan Amanda Washburn
Born on the Cheyenne River Reservation, Amanda’s artistry is grounded in family heritage and intergenerational knowledge. Amanda is an experienced maker of 28 years. She first learned patchwork and hand quilting from her grandmother and later learned star quilt making from her mother, who at the time balanced a full-time job all the while crafting quilts at home and simultaneously creating jobs in the Cherry Creek community through the art. Quilting remains a family tradition, inclusive of her father and three sisters who all sew.
